Abstract
Vocational education is an education that prepares people including persons with disabilities for specific trades, crafts and careers at various levels. The need for vocational education in the face of present economic realities in Nigeria cannot be over-emphasized. The aim of the paper is to examine the nature of vocational education for persons with disabilities post Covid-19 pandemic. It compares challenges of vocational education of persons with disabilities during the COVID-19 pandemic with the post-COVID-19 experiences. This paper adopted a theoretical approach and hinged its argument on the social model theory of
disability and the right-based theory of disability. It defined persons with disabilities as including persons with visual impairment, hearing impairment, mobility impairment, and learning disabilities. It identified challenges of vocational education during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. It highlighted the need for the employment of competent and qualified trainers to handle vocational education in such centers as a way of promoting vocational education of persons with disabilities in Nigeria. It also recommended the construction and provision of vocation centers for persons with disabilities in the rural communities to meet the vocational training needs of persons with disabilities in the rural areas.
